It creates a framework for determining a clearer direction for the company that is aligned with the realities of the marketplace. The module will address not just the thinking, but also the implementation of those strategic thoughts. Module topics include: know the benefits of strategic thinking; define the various aspects of strategic thinking; use assumption surfacing and evaluation; identify ways for individuals to contribute to competitive advantage; link strategic results to resource allocation; assemble a strategic thinking team; identify ways to overcome barriers to strategic thinking; know how to measure the impact of strategic thinking; describe ways to apply strategic thinking to one’s career; and use knowledge management to improve the implementation process.

This module evaluates high performing organizations, their characteristics, and the role of leadership in a high performance environment. During the module, you will: discover the effect of leaders on followers, evaluate the issues facing all groups and teams, participate in exercises to demonstrate inter-group dynamics, and understand management. Module topics include: art and science of leadership as an influence process; difference between management and leadership; leadership theory; charismatic leadership; transactional vs. transformational leadership; and guidelines for effective team leadership.

hree types of coaching situations.

~ Building and Leading Successful Teams

~ Fostering Creativity and Innovation

Innovation is the fuel that drives business. The many aspects of creativity are the building blocks. The blocks are used to build the "house" for alternative ways to manage people, technology and other resources. Creativity helps managers generate more options and alternatives for increasing results. Creativity and innovation provide perspective and structure to make it easier to find a better way. Module topics include: five stages of the creative process; 32 ways to stretch the creativity muscles; overcoming barriers to creativity; four creative thinking abilities; 19 questions for successful innovation; best practices; and multi-functional innovation.

~ Ethics, Values, and Drive

Executives and senior level managers are self driven. Often this drive for accomplishment and recognition comes into direct conflict with corporate and personal ethics and values. We must understand how ethics and values govern our business. Our drive to win is essential to our success and that of our business, but it must always be ruled by ethics and positive values, and this requires courage and understanding. Module topics include: the relationships between ethics and values, and courage; your personal value profile, and how it aligns with leadership and drive; the concept and application of managerial courage; and learn tools to deal effectively with inappropriate behavior.
